Drop Off, Collection and Studio Safety
We want every child to feel safe, settled and ready to enjoy their class. Our drop off and collection arrangements help lessons begin smoothly, keep the studios secure and allow teachers to focus fully on the children in their care.
Arriving for Class
Please aim to arrive a few minutes before your child’s class is due to begin.
The studio doors will open at the class start time and a member of the team will welcome the children inside. Classes are drop off and go, so parents do not need to enter the building or wait inside during the lesson.
This helps children develop confidence and independence while allowing us to keep the studios calm and focused.
Once everyone has arrived, the external doors are locked so that the building remains secure throughout the lesson.
In exceptional circumstances, parents may be able to wait in our snug area during class time. This is only available where agreed with a member of the team in advance, and is intended for short-term or specific situations where waiting off-site is not possible.
If You Are Running Late
We understand that delays happen.
If you know you are going to be late, please send us a WhatsApp message so the teaching team is aware. As the doors are locked during lessons, please wait outside when you arrive and we will help your child enter safely as soon as a member of staff is available. You may need to knock on one of the doors that lead directly into a studio so that we can see that you've arrived.
Children who arrive late will always be welcomed and supported as they join the class.
Collecting Your Child
Please return promptly and wait outside the relevant studio door shortly before the lesson finishes.
Children will remain supervised inside until they are collected. Teachers will bring the class to the door and make sure each child leaves safely with their parent, carer or authorised adult.
Please let us know in advance if somebody different will be collecting your child. We will not allow a child to leave with someone we are not expecting.
If you are delayed at collection time, please contact us as soon as possible. Your child will remain safely supervised until you arrive.
Waiting Outside
Please wait on the pavement outside the studio and keep the studio entrances clear while classes are entering and leaving. For safety, do not wait on the road or on the opposite side of the street, as children will be crossing during busy changeover times.
The changeover between lessons can be busy, particularly on Sundays, so we really appreciate everyone helping us keep the entrances clear.
Using the Car Park Safely
The car park can become very busy at class changeover times. Please drive slowly and remain aware that children may be walking nearby.
Please park only in an appropriate space and avoid stopping where you may block another car, the studio entrance or anyone’s view when entering or leaving the site.
On all days, please follow the one-way system as both gates remain open to help traffic move safely and reduce congestion.
Keeping the Studios Secure
Our external doors remain locked while lessons are taking place. They are opened for children to enter at the beginning of class and again for collection at the end.
This allows us to control who enters the building and helps keep the children safe without interrupting their lesson.
Please do not ask another parent or child to hold a secure door open. A member of the Flame team will manage entry and collection.
A Safe Space to Dance
Our studios have professional sprung floors designed to provide cushioning and support while children dance. These help to reduce the impact placed on growing joints during jumping, travelling and other movement.
The studios are kept clear and suitable for dance, and children should only bring the belongings they need for their lesson.
Please make sure teachers are aware of any injuries, medical needs or changes that may affect your child during class. You can update important information through ClassForKids or contact us directly.
